It’s been a busy Autumn for Terrain-AI. In particular, October brought the opportunity for T-AI members Gourav Misra and Stephanie Keogh to both be featured as speakers for MaynoothWorks’ Earth Observation Explore Event. They shared their ongoing work in Copernicus Academy and Relay Ireland to develop the EO Data Hub – a platform making Earth Observation education, data, and technologies freely available to those interested – and the Machine Learning methods we are developing to detect land use change.

That same day, Terrain-AI, in partnership with our sister project DecaMap, took part in Maynooth Research Week, showcasing the suite of sophisticated technologies that are used in support of climate change action and wildfire response scenarios. The undergraduates that attended the day were brought through the thermal imaging, LiDAR, and drone technologies, as well as the models and platforms built to process the subsequent data. Attending students were especially interested in the thermal imaging and display used in both Terrain-AI and DecaMap.
