{"id":2600,"date":"2021-10-29T15:05:42","date_gmt":"2021-10-29T15:05:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/terrainai.com\/?p=2600"},"modified":"2024-01-24T15:51:04","modified_gmt":"2024-01-24T15:51:04","slug":"met-eireann-collaborate-on-soil-sensor-network","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/terrainai.com\/index.php\/2021\/10\/29\/met-eireann-collaborate-on-soil-sensor-network\/","title":{"rendered":"Met \u00c9ireann Collaborate on Soil Sensor Network"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of a joint research initiative between Terrain-AI and Met \u00c9ireann, our first soil moisture sensors have been installed at the Grange\/Dunsany Met \u00c9ireann site.<br>The sensors were installed by Terrain-AI lead researchers Rowan Fealy and Tim McCarthy with Tony O\u2019Leary from Met  \u00c9ireann.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This installation is the first in a broader series of soil moisture installations across the Met \u00c9ireann network of sites over the coming weeks.<br>The 1m\u00a0time-domain reflectometer (TDR) sensors measure the soil water content profile by gathering data on moisture, electrical conductivity and temperature at nine depths in the soil profile.
